We require a Project Engineer � signals & telecoms based in Birmingham. You will need to be PTS certified.It�s working with the Signalling remit on Re-signalling projects within the West Midland area, (Walsall, Water Orton & Birmingham New Street), the role will also cover the co-ordination of the telecoms systems into the new joint West Midlands Control centre. As these are signalling projects with a multidiscipline aspect we are looking for a very specific telecoms engineer. It is essential that they have rail FTN (fixed telecoms network) experience. It would be beneficial if they also understood signalling to, and how the two interact. They will be providing the telecoms knowledge to the signalling remit and therefore must have a good understanding of systems assurance, safety case and yellow book regulations.Essential� Successful relevant experience in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi discipline areas. Particular Experience of large re-signalling projects that interface with FTN.� Technical qualifications to HNC/HND or equivalent GNVQ level.� Knowledge of quality assurance.� An understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of work.� CDM, risk assessment, auditing internal and external competency.� CITB CSCS scheme.� Knowledge of structuring safety cases in support of projects.Desirable� Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level.� An appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works.� Six Sigma Yellow Belt.� Project safety management experience� Yellow book course
