SHE Manager: North West
Our client is an International speciality chemicals manufacturing company that has operations globally. A vacancy has arisen for a Safety Health and Environmental Manager to be located on their North West site on a permanent basis.

The main responsibilities of the role will include:
Provide the necessary SHE leadership to underpin the various site programmes and processes in place to comply with all relevant SHE standards (company, regulatory, BSI/ISO etc). They will act as the focal point for regulatory bodies such as the HSE, Environment Agency etc. The role will involve holding responsibility for all matters related to the management and control of asbestos and Waste management. The position will involve supporting process improvement, energy, waste and cost reduction programmes.
Responsible for maintenance of consent and authorisation requirements under relevant legislation and monitor compliance and intervene where necessary.
Proposing Site performance targets / KPIs and monitoring against these targets to identify key areas requiring improvements / action.
Provide SHE input on projects for advice, planning and implementation including environmental permits, process safety and safe systems of work.

The successful candidate should hold a degree in chemical engineering or equivalent, NEBOSH qualified and working towards IOSH membership. . Ideally you will have skills in SHE management of a chemical operation (COMAH/PPC). You will have expertise in management of Process Safety systems, having knowledge in the field of loss prevention, risk management and environmental engineering. You will need leadership/influencing skills and the ability to deliver results within a team environment. Also you will have proven ability with SHE/quality audits and protocols, being fully conversant with SHE regulations and their practical implementation.
